The Ultimate Travel Laptop Stand from Roost

Get this laptop stand here:
At only 6.4oz, it proves to be lightweight AND functional. It is strong in all the right places with very very good ease of use. It has preset stoppers that will set the height without having to set it every time you open it. Yes, it’s a bit expensive but there is nothing else like this on the market. The typical aluminum ones are 16.4oz so a full 10oz heavier. Great for when you want to travel light.

So many red flags with that plastic stand:

    1. Overengineered plastic products are categorically not robust and if even one of those little plastic parts break (which they will), the entire stand will go straight into the landfill.
    2. Clearly sticks when trying to open/close the stand, which is a huge red flag it’s not well designed or easy to use, and will be a greater risk of breaking.
    3. There was zero attempt made to make the stand’s feet grip the surface below. Use this on a train or plane, and you’re going to have a very bad time.
    4. It’s the ugliest stand I’ve ever seen. It’s so ugly that I’d be embarrassed to pull this out in public or at work.
    5. You mentioned this plastic stand is quite expensive. Given all the CLEAR flaws, that’s unacceptable and it’s an obvious rip-off.

As for the aluminium stand used in the comparison, it needs to be said that most aluminium stands are far lighter than the one in this video. My metal stand is only 8.4oz, almost half that of the one you showed here.

In short, this plastic stand has almost no redeeming qualities, and you’re gaslighting viewers by trying to peddle this junk. The more you try to deny it, the more your credibility turns to vapour. Do better.

How does the stability hold up when typing on an external keyboard?

Nice. Glad you explained that you can keep the desired setting and still open and close without fiddling with the setting. That alone made me purchase it.
